Traditionally, you write your book, find an agent and get an advance (if you're lucky) from a publisher on future book sales. Or, on the other hand, you don't find an agent, and you don't get an advance, and you don't find a publisher.

You're then relegated to the so-called "vanity press", a somewhat amorphous and mildly nefarious publishing scheme that has you fronting the money so you can get your words out to your public, one book, or ten books or a hundred at a time. Unfortunately, the "fronting the money" aspect of this scenario is where the wheat is separated from the chaff. If you don't have the money, or enough of the money, you don't get published.

That's all changing. Rapidly.

eBooks are here, and they're quickly changing the publishing landscape. You get to do what you do best -- write. But you don't need an agent, and you don't need a publisher (except that you'll need some basic software), you don't need the vanity press, and you don't need a whole lot of money.

You can do it all on your own. And make more money than you ever could in the rather traditional routes that you were forced to take.

Traditionally, your publisher pays you 10%, or 20%, or maybe even 30% of the gross revenues of your book. With eBook publishing, you get to keep up to 100% of the revenues!
